I enjoyed reading this article, a good read down memory lane it brings back memories of past and present times.
After I graduated high school in 1970 my first job was working for the Florida State Parks at Fort Pickens, not only did I work there (just for one summer) as a family we would camp there as well thanks to my father in law, we spent just about every summer camping at Fort Pickens or at a beach house on Pensacola Beach, to this day we spend our summers camping at Fort Pickens.
The beach has changed alot sense then but the one thing that remains the same as it was back in the 70’s are the beaches at Fort Pickens, sure it’s weather worn but it’s still a beautiful place to visit. Sometimes I think the locals don’t realize what a most beautiful National Park we have here at Pensacola Beach.
Thanks for the artical.
